Traditional hard surfaces such as poured and stamped concrete and asphalt driveways dump storm water and surface contaminants (oil and fertilizer) onto roadways and into storm sewers - and from there into ponds, rivers and lakes. This is a major contributing factor to the deterioration of water quality in our region. Permeable paving systems allow water to rapidly pass through wider joints and filter through a deeper base of clear aggregate. Contaminants are contained and excess water is absorbed into the subgrade below the pavers, and from there it eventually passes back into the local water table.
Backyard Reflections has designed many Permeable Paver Systems that have helped our clients with Impervious Hardcover Lot Restrictions, many Counties will allow from 50 to 100% of Permeable Paver Systems to be counted as Pervious Cover thus allowing more of your lot to be used for Drives, Patios, & Walks…
